Jerusalem, 18 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has inaugurated a new factory assembling advanced Israeli-designed drones, marking a new stage in Serbia’s defense cooperation with Israel.

Journalists were barred from the inauguration because of the confidentiality of the production process, and few details about the facility were released.

The facility, which will employ around 100 workers, will supply drones to the Serbian military as well as armed forces in other countries.

Vučić said Serbia and its Israeli partners plan to open at least three additional factories across the country.

The project reportedly involves Israel’s Elbit Systems and Serbia’s state-owned arms producer Yugoimport SDPR. Serbian officials have described the cooperation as part of efforts to develop domestic drone-production capabilities and strengthen the country’s military industry.
