Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Bank of Israel announced that its monthly Index of Economic Activity grew by 0.3% in September, reflecting the average growth rate across the third quarter (July–September).

Central bank officials attributed the positive momentum primarily to strong credit card spending, robust manufacturing exports, and gains across both the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ 100. Growth in retail trade and service sector receipts further bolstered the index.

However, gains were partially offset by a moderation in employment figures, job vacancies, and indirect tax collections. The 0.3% expansion aligns with Israel’s long-term historical growth trend, though indicators from previous months were revised slightly downward following updated economic reporting.
