Jerusalem, 28 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Police announced Wednesday that all major highways in southern Israel previously blocked by severe storm flooding have been reopened to two-way traffic.
Reopened arterial routes include Route 90 between Neve Zohar and the Arava Junction, as well as Route 40 between Mitzpe Ramon and the Tzihor Junction, restoring key transit corridors across the Negev and Arava regions.
However, Route 234 near the Tze’elim Bridge remains closed in both directions due to ongoing flood conditions, with police personnel stationed on-site to divert traffic.
Southern District police officers continue active operations in the field, conducting real-time situational assessments to manage lingering flood risks and monitor road safety.
