Jerusalem, 3 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Representatives of all the parties in the outgoing Netanyahu coalition serving on the Central Elections Committee have jointly demanded an emergency hearing into alleged violations of election integrity, escalating their challenge to the results of the 26th Knesset election.
The coalition representatives are seeking answers as final results are prepared for submission to President Isaac Herzog.
The demand comes despite committee chairman Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg’s insistence that voting and counting proceeded properly and transparently.
The majority members argue that Sohlberg cannot make this assertion before the investigation is complete.
Committee officials are preparing for the possibility that the committee’s majority members, comprised of outgoing coalition MKs, could refuse to approve the results, potentially shifting the dispute to the High Court of Justice.
Opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot accused Netanyahu and Likud of launching a destructive attack on Israeli democracy and the legitimacy of the election results.
