Jerusalem, 28 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Arab Joint List leader Ahmad Tibi confirmed on Wednesday that his alliance is in talks with Israel’s opposition “Change Bloc” to help replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government following the elections.
“We blocked the possibility of Netanyahu forming a government,” Tibi said. “Our public wants us to move forward and influence the character of the political system after the elections.”
Tibi said the Joint List wants to help establish an alternative government and replace what he called “this terrible government.” He added that the alliance was extending its hand to the Change Bloc to facilitate that effort.
Tibi acknowledged that the Joint List would probably not formally join an alternative government but said other arrangements were possible. He expressed willingness to negotiate parliamentary cooperation, including how and when to vote, in exchange for progress on issues affecting Arab communities, including crime, home demolitions, infrastructure and incitement.
