Jerusalem, 25 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Sunday confirmed it killed two terrorists involved in transferring millions of shekels from Iran and Turkey to Hamas last week.
A strike in Gaza City on Wednesday killed Alaa Ibrahim Nimer Arshi, a commander in a Hamas terrorist cell, while a separate strike Tuesday in Nuseirat killed Karam Riyad Hassan Abu Butaihan, a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, the IDF said.
Both men were involved in facilitating the transfer of millions of shekels to Hamas’ military wing throughout the war. The funds were recently used to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities and plan attacks against Israeli troops and civilians, the IDF said.
In a separate operation Thursday, the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) dismantled a Hamas weapons storage facility in the central Gaza Strip in an aerial strike. The facility contained Kalashnikov rifles, a launcher and rockets.
The military said it took steps to minimize civilian casualties, including issuing advance warnings, using precision munitions and conducting aerial surveillance.
