Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police arrested two foreign activists, a father and son, on Tuesday after they allegedly participated in an unauthorized olive harvest near the Palestinian village of a-Tuwani in the southern Hebron Hills and entered a declared military firing zone.

Hebron police officers, working alongside the IDF’s Judea Brigade, conducted the operation.

Police said the gathering had been organized despite prior warnings and a preventive discussion with village residents the previous day. Several Palestinians arrived with the two foreigners to harvest olives without authorization. When security forces arrived, the harvesters fled toward a restricted military firing zone, where entry is prohibited.

The two activists were arrested on suspicion of illegally entering the firing zone and supporting the Palestinian organization Al-Haq, which police identified as having encouraged the unauthorized harvest. Following a hearing on Wednesday, authorities decided to deport them and bar them from reentering Israel.
