Jerusalem, 27 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A senior fundraiser for Aid 48, an organization linked to the Islamic Movement, is among three suspects arrested in the Negev on suspicion of attempting to bribe voters to support the Ra’am party in Israel’s elections.
The research department of Choosing Life Forum identified the suspect as S.A.R., a Rahat resident and senior party activist who previously headed the Southern Islamic Movement’s youth department. He is considered a central figure in Aid 48’s fundraising operation.
Police reportedly seized envelopes containing Ra’am ballots, some accompanied by cash, following intelligence indicating that suspects had allegedly prepared them to influence voters.
The forum said the suspect had previously been named in its complaint to police alleging Aid 48’s involvement in terrorist financing. It called for a thorough investigation into the alleged links between Ra’am’s political network and the charity’s fundraising operations, including possible Hamas financing.
