Jerusalem, 27 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An unusual incident occurred on Election Day in Tel Aviv, involving a suspected attempted stabbing of Democrats party chairman, retired Maj. Gen. Yair Golan, at the Messila Park.
According to a statement from the party, during a voter-mobilization tour by Golan at the park, an unidentified man wearing a jacket approached him in a threatening manner. Golan’s security guards blocked the man, and as they moved closer to him, a large knife fell from under his clothing onto the ground.
The guards immediately subdued the suspect. Police were called to the scene, and the man was arrested.
