Jerusalem, 23 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Five Israelis were injured when Palestinian terrorists fired on soldiers at a Mount Hebron traffic junction Friday morning.
A military source told The Press Service of Israel that according to initial details, the soldiers thwarted a major attack planned against civilians ahead of Tuesday’s elections.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, the terrorist arrived in a vehicle bearing Israeli license plates before opening fire. Two terrorists were killed by responding soldiers. Security forces launched a manhunt for possible other terrorists.
The victims were evacuated to Jerusalem-area hospitals. Two were in critical condition, two in moderate condition, and one being treated for mild injuries.
