TPS: Soldier Protesting Administrative Detentions Outside Central Command Arrested
An IDF soldier protesting administrative detention orders issued by Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth was briefly detained in Jerusalem before being released by police.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police briefly detained an active-duty soldier in training on Monday night after he displayed signs outside Central Command headquarters in Jerusalem—where Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth’s office is located—protesting Bluth’s use of administrative detention orders against Jewish settlers and what the soldier called the mistreatment of Tal Yinon Dardik.
The signs read “Avi Bluth—enough with administrative orders” and “Avi Bluth—stop persecuting Tal Yinon Dardik.”
Police, called to the scene by the IDF, took the soldier to the Neve Ya’akov station; he was released after attorney Daniel Shimshilashvili of the Honenu legal aid organization intervened.
Shimshilashvili argued the soldier had protested lawfully.
The protest follows Dardik’s remand until the end of proceedings for violating an administrative order Bluth issued against him; Dardik has vowed to continue opposing what he calls discriminatory policy targeting Judea and Samaria settlers.
