TPS: Dutch Court Approves Law Banning Trade With Settlement-Based Companies
A Dutch court in The Hague has approved a government decree banning trade with Israeli settlements in Judea, Samaria, and Golan Heights.
Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A Dutch court in The Hague on Wednesday upheld a government decree banning trade in goods originating from Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria and the Golan Heights.
Intentional violations will constitute criminal offenses, punishable by up to six years in prison or substantial fines.
The Israel Product Center (IPC) and European Jewish Association (EJA) had sought an emergency injunction blocking the measure. The court dismissed the EJA’s petition for lack of legal standing and rejected all five arguments raised by the IPC, ruling that the government’s interest in enforcing the sanctions outweighs the claimed commercial harm.
The restrictions take effect Sept. 22 and ban the import, purchase, and sale of covered goods, as well as intermediary and brokerage services. The decree will initially remain in force for three years.
The ruling comes amid growing European measures targeting economic activity linked to Israeli settlements.
