Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Democrats chairman Yair Golan warned Sunday that the likelihood of another military confrontation with Iran is increasing, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of failing to prevent a cycle of recurring clashes.
In a post on X, Golan said Netanyahu lacked the public trust, moral legitimacy, and basic capabilities needed to manage another campaign against Tehran.
Golan argued that he and fellow opposition figures Gadi Eisenkot, Avigdor Liberman, Naftali Bennett, and Yair Lapid possess the security experience and institutional familiarity needed to protect Israel. He pledged that they were committed to working together on national security.
He warned that Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir remaining in key positions posed a danger to Israel, accusing the prime minister of using national security to advance his political survival.
Golan called for establishing an alternative government as soon as possible.
