Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A Border Police officer’s alertness while driving home Sunday morning after completing his shift led to the arrest of nine illegal Palestinian residents of Judea and Samaria and a suspected employer at a construction site in Ashkelon.
During his drive, the officer noticed a man behaving suspiciously. When the man spotted the officer, he fled into a nearby construction site. The officer immediately contacted members of Ashkelon’s local emergency response team, who were in the area, and requested assistance in searching the premises.
A joint search uncovered nine Palestinians staying in Israel without legal permits, along with a man suspected of employing them. All 10 were arrested at the scene and transferred to Ashkelon Police Station for further questioning.
