Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Likud MK Avihai Boaron sharply criticized Gadi Eisenkot on Sunday over his plan to replace Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana with support from the Islamist Ra’am party and the predominantly Arab Joint List, warning that such a move would be a “tragedy for generations.”

Speaking in a radio interview, Boaron said Eisenkot stood at a historic crossroads and had to choose “between his brothers and Israel’s enemies.”

Boaron described securing the speakership with Ra’am and Joint List votes as “a pact with the devil,” accusing the Arab parties of supporting terrorism and citing alleged links to Hamas. “He prefers them over going with IDF reservists? Shame and disgrace,” Boaron charged.
