Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel has launched its first official wine regions map, dividing the country into eight central wine regions and 18 sub-regions based on distinct climate, soil, and topography, including areas such as the Golan Heights, Upper Galilee, and the Negev Mountains.

The map creates a unified framework for defining the geographic origin of Israeli wine grapes for the first time, aimed at improving transparency for consumers, strengthening regional branding, and supporting wine tourism.

The initiative was led jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Safety, which handled the agricultural and professional aspects, and the Ministry of Health, which oversaw labeling and consumer protection regulations.
