TPS: Israeli Citizen Arrested Over Suspected Foreign Agent Contact
Israeli security forces arrested Hamdan Hamdan, 32, from Majd al-Krum on suspicion of acting as a foreign agent for a contact in Lebanon.
Jerusalem, 18 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli security forces have arrested a 32-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum in the Galilee, on suspicion of carrying out security-related tasks for a foreign agent, the Israel Police and Shin Bet said.
Hamdan Hamdan was arrested in a joint operation by Lahav 433’s International Investigations Unit and the Shin Bet. Investigators said he maintained contact for several months with a foreign female agent from Lebanon and, under her direction, was asked to carry out security-related missions.
According to the investigation, Hamdan knew he was communicating with a Lebanese operative. In exchange, the foreign contact allegedly attempted to compensate him by purchasing products in Israel and arranging for them to be delivered to him.
The investigation was conducted with the Haifa District Prosecution. An indictment is scheduled to be filed Sunday, September 20.
