Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Real Estate Enforcement Authority has launched a nationwide audit targeting 121 planning and building committees to inspect member conflict-of-interest disclosures.

Exercising powers under the Planning and Building Law of 1965, regulatory officials formally requested governance documentation from local boards across the country.

The broad investigation follows a preliminary review of 10 municipalities that already submitted compliance filings. Officials emphasized that enforcing strict ethical standards among land-use regulators is essential for ensuring public trust, transparency, and objective administrative decision-making in nationwide zoning and construction approvals.

The authority stated it will continue utilizing statutory oversight capabilities to enforce proper governance, prevent corruption, and ensure legal compliance across regional development bodies.
