Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel officially launched National Road Safety Week on Sunday, November 1, 2026, initiating nationwide campaigns focused on improving safety across urban environments.
Organized by the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) alongside local municipalities, civil society groups, and police enforcement, the annual campaign prioritizes protecting vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and scooter riders.
Central to this year’s initiative is the expansion of the NRSA’s “Safe City” program, which deploys data-driven traffic calming, infrastructure upgrades, and targeted corporate oversight for commercial courier fleets.
Officials emphasized that reducing traffic fatalities requires year-round systemic cooperation between state agencies, municipal authorities, and commercial logistics operators to prevent accidents and enforce urban speed limits effectively.
