Jerusalem, 27 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Severe weather conditions caused power outages across several communities in the Jordan Valley on Tuesday, damaging local electrical infrastructure during national parliamentary elections.
A winter storm system bringing heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and intense wind gusts struck the region, downing power lines and interrupting municipal supply.
Israel Electric Corporation technical crews were deployed to the affected areas to repair damaged infrastructure and restore power as rapidly as possible.
Election officials have not yet commented on whether the blackouts have disrupted voting operations at local polling stations.
Election authorities, however, maintain contingency measures, including backup generators and mobile voting facilities, to ensure continuous ballot access across affected districts throughout Election Day.
