Jerusalem, 14 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s capital market is approaching a market capitalization of NIS 3 trillion (approximately $970 billion), requiring updated regulations and financial infrastructure, Securities Authority Chairman Sefi Zinger said Wednesday at the annual conference of the Israel Investment Houses Association.
Daily trading volume has reached approximately NIS 5.5 billion ($1.8 billion), the bond market stands at NIS 750 billion ($243 billion), and mutual funds manage an estimated NIS 850 billion to NIS 860 billion ($275 billion to $279 billion).
Zinger said hundreds of thousands of private investors have entered the market in recent years, while international participation has increased and American technology companies are exploring Israeli listings. He called for legislation regulating brokerage activities, a formal securitization market and progress on a unified investment account that would simplify investment management and taxation.
Zinger also highlighted Friday trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange as a step toward attracting foreign investors.
