Jerusalem, 11 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Following the earthquake that struck Panama on October 9, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to affected residents.
In coordination with local Panamanian authorities and the Municipality of Panama City, Israel is delivering drinking water to residents of Playa Venao, where severe infrastructure damage has disrupted power and caused critical water shortages. Transport and distribution are being facilitated directly through local government channels.
Additionally, essential food supplies purchased in collaboration with the local Israeli community in Panama are being dispatched to the impacted region.
“Israel stands in solidarity with the Government and the people of Panama following the strong earthquake,” said Sa’ar. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all Panamanians, especially with the injured and the affected communities.”
