Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police arrested a man Wednesday evening after a deceased fetus was left outside Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and the individual fled the scene.
Officers launched an investigation to identify the suspect and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, police said.
Following initial investigative efforts, officers located and arrested a suspect at a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Kiryat Hayovel neighborhood, a short time after the discovery.
The suspect was taken to the Moriah police station for questioning as investigators work to determine the background and circumstances of the case.
The incident prompted a police search after authorities received a report that a man had left the deceased fetus at the hospital’s entrance.
