Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In 2025, paid travel on regular bus lines stood at 780.9 million, a 1.4% increase compared to 2024 (769.8 million).

The highest percentage of weekday bus travel occurred on Wednesdays (18.5%) while the lowest percentage was on Mondays (17.8%).

The peak hours for travel were between 1:00 PM and 1:59 PM (61.2 million rides, representing 7.8% of total) and between 7:00 AM and 7:59 AM (58.7 million, 7.5%).

Breakdown of Trips by Profile Type:

26.0% (202.9 million) – Undefined (anonymous)

25.5% (199.2 million) – Adult (ages 18–65)

23.2% (180.9 million) – Youth (ages 5–18)

9.8% (76.7 million) – Gold profile (ages 75+)

6.5% (51.0 million) – Student

4.3% (33.2 million) – Senior Citizen (ages 65+)

The number of travel validations by senior citizens (Senior Citizen and Gold profiles combined) reached 110 million, representing 14.1% of total validations. This age group accounts for 12.8% of the country’s population.
