Jerusalem, 15 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Marking two years since the elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the Israel Defense Forces on Thursday released a letter from Sinwar’s son, Ibrahim, in which the 10-year-old wrote, “I want to hold a Kalashnikov and shoot Jews.” The document was recovered by troops in the Gaza Strip in 2024.

Written early in the war, the letter expresses personal longing for his father alongside descriptions of crafting model weapons and tanks out of paper and cardboard. IDF officials highlighted the text and accompanying drawings as evidence of systematic radicalization, stating the material demonstrates how Hamas’s ideology of violence and hatred is passed down to younger generations within the Gaza Strip.
