Jerusalem, 26 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Four senior reserve officers who served with retired Brig. Gen. Ofer Winter on Monday issued an urgent appeal to withdraw his Amcha Yisrael party from Tuesday’s Knesset election, warning that failing to cross the electoral threshold could cost the right-wing bloc crucial votes.

The statement was signed by Brig. Gen. (res.) Erez Wiener, Brig. Gen. (res.) Prof. Gabi Siboni, Col. (res.) Hezi Nechama, and Brig. Gen. (res.) Harel Knafo.

Knafo addressed Winter personally, praising his military leadership while urging him to reconsider. “Ofer, brother, your actions could bring down the entire national camp,” he warned, arguing that lost votes could jeopardize a right-wing government.

The officers urged voters to support only parties with strong chances of crossing Israel’s 3.25% electoral threshold. Winter has repeatedly vowed to continue his campaign through election day.
