Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Otzma Yehudit, the party led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, accused Likud of trying to exclude him from the next government.
“The ‘shooting inside the armored personnel carrier’ is coming from Likud,” the party said, invoking a Hebrew expression for friendly fire.
The party pointed to reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had signaled Ben Gvir might not retain his current portfolio or serve in the next government. It also cited comments by Likud figures about forming a coalition with Gadi Eisenkot.
“We love Prime Minister Netanyahu and are 100% committed to him,” Otzma Yehudit said. “If Likud has decided to push Ben Gvir out and form a government with Eisenkot, it should say so openly instead of blaming the victim.”
