Jerusalem, 29 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry has published a quota allocation of 1,000 work permits for non-professional foreign labor from Sri Lanka to support national manufacturing and industrial operations.

The initiative operates under a government-to-government bilateral agreement designed to address severe labor shortages and maintain factory output amid ongoing regional disruption. Candidates in Sri Lanka have already undergone screening and vetting to establish a vetted worker pool ready for deployment.

Permits will be issued by the Population and Immigration Authority following recommendations from the Ministry’s Foreign Workers Department.
