Jerusalem, 14 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Amcha Yisrael Chairman Ofer Winter accused right-wing figures of orchestrating a campaign of smears, threats, and personal attacks against his party, claiming it was funded with tens of millions of shekels from the state budget.
Speaking to party members Wednesday, Winter said campaigners had plastered communities where his colleagues live with posters accusing them of endangering Israel, despite some having lost loved ones or served hundreds of reserve-duty days during the war.
On Tuesday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the popular “Patriots” show that if Winter fails to clear the 3.25% electoral threshold, his party could cost the right-wing bloc two or more Knesset seats. Netanyahu also predicted that if Winter does cross the threshold, he would eventually align his party with Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu.
Winter expressed empathy for eighth-slated Davidi Ben Zion, who withdrew from the race, saying pressure had become unbearable for him and his wife.
