Jerusalem, 26 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Founder of restaurant chain Oren’s Hummus and panelist on the Israeli TV show The Sharks, Oren Dobronsky, who was picked by Netanyahu for the Likud slate only to drop out eventually, on Monday compared Israelis who vote for Gadi Eisenkot to New York Jews who voted for Zohran Mamdani.
Writing on X, Dobronsky cited Benny Gantz, Eizenkot’s ideological partner, who said, “If you voted for Gadi, you voted for Mansour Abbas. What’s not clear?”
He explained that Eizenkot’s bloc would need Arab-party support to form a government. Yair Golan doesn’t deny it, while Bennett and Liberman have already done it. Dobronsky asked, after October 7 and years of Islamist terrorism, how can Israelis vote for a candidate whose government may depend on an Arab party?
“Don’t you see that voting for Eizenkot … is exactly the same madness as New York Jews voting for Mamdani?” Dobronsky concluded.
