Jerusalem, 26 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Likud and Religious Zionism parties are preparing a joint operation to deploy approximately 2,000 activists as election observers at hundreds of polling stations in Arab communities during Tuesday’s 26th Knesset election.
The parties say the initiative aims to prevent electoral fraud and irregularities by monitoring voting and ballot counting at locations they consider vulnerable to misconduct. Participants reportedly include yeshiva students and religious Zionist activists.
The plan has drawn criticism from election watchdogs and Arab community organizations, which warn that the presence of outside observers could intimidate voters and discourage participation.
Israeli media reports say Likud is also preparing complaints concerning alleged procedural violations.
