Jerusalem, 31 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman posted on X Saturday night: “The wicked never rest for a moment. I have received several inquiries regarding the demand for the role of Knesset Speaker. I have no desire whatsoever and no intention of being the Knesset Speaker.”
Liberman reaffirmed Thursday that his party would honor its campaign pledges, declaring, “We will not sit with Bibi or Tibi,” referring to the prime minister and the co-chairman of the Arab joint list. He later expanded the message on X, saying, “A word is a word. Everything I said before the election still applies afterward. We will not sit with Bibi, not with Tibi, not with Goldknopf, not with Deri, not with Yasser Hujirat, and not with any supporters of terrorism, directly or indirectly.”
Liberman said he would consider only a coalition composed exclusively of Zionist parties, including the Likud, but without Benjamin Netanyahu.
