Jerusalem, 21 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yashar party, vowed Wednesday that he would not serve in a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, even under a power-sharing rotation agreement. “If that happens, you’ll see it. I’ll resign an hour later,” Eisenkot announced.

Eisenkot described Tuesday’s meeting with Liberman, leader of Yisrael Beiteinu, as positive, saying they had resolved differences. Meanwhile, Yashar continued urging voters to make it the bloc’s largest party.

Eisenkot warned that otherwise, Netanyahu would advance legislation he called the “draft-dodging law.”

Last month, Eisenkot rejected rotation agreements within his own political bloc, arguing that a prime minister should serve a full four-year term to implement domestic and regional policies. He criticized Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Liberman for undermining the bloc’s chances by refusing to endorse his candidacy, insisting that its largest party should lead.
