Jerusalem, 4 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has signed new data distribution regulations under the National Infrastructure Law, standardizing how subterranean mapping data is shared with project developers.
Under the new framework, developers will no longer need to submit separate, manual inquiries to individual utility providers to locate underground cables, pipes, and structures. Instead, authorized entities will access centralized, digital subterranean mapping via the Survey of Israel’s (MAPI) Infrastructure Coordination System. Officials state that providing real-time, comprehensive site data will significantly streamline initial planning phases, reduce costly project delays, and prevent accidental utility damage.
The regulatory shift aims to accelerate national transportation, utility, and civil engineering projects, boosting overall economic productivity and infrastructure development nationwide.
