Jerusalem, 1 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Political commentator Attila Somfalvi on Sunday slammed Arab Joint List member Bachar Awadeh, called him “insolent,” and said, “If Eisenkot backs down on even one clause concerning the Jewish character of the state or an all-out war against Hamas, I will personally fight to keep Bibi as prime minister.”

In a post-election interview with Jordan’s Al-Mamlaka TV, Bachar Awadeh said his party “does not accept” the four principles laid down by Eisenkot during the campaign. “If he wants to form a government relying on the Arab parties, he must retract them,” Awadeh said.

Eisenkot reiterated on Saturday his four conditions for collaboration with the Arab factions: recognition of Israel as a Jewish state; commitment to the Declaration of Independence; mandatory military or civilian service; and recognition of Hamas as a terrorist organization that must be destroyed.

Somfalvi has expressed sharp criticism of Netanyahu’s policies and conduct over the years.
