Jerusalem, 15 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Voting began on Thursday at Israeli diplomatic missions worldwide, 12 days before Israel’s general election, continuing a longstanding tradition.

Approximately 4,800 eligible Israeli state emissaries and their family members can cast ballots at 101 polling stations across 99 Israeli missions, an operation organized by the Foreign Ministry and the Central Elections Committee.

Eligible voters include diplomats, government ministry representatives, and personnel serving in various overseas offices and military attaché units, as well as qualifying family members.

Voting began first at Israel’s embassy in Wellington, New Zealand, at 11 p.m. Israel time on Wednesday, followed by the embassy in Suva, Fiji, at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. The process moves westward across the globe and lasts approximately 30 hours.

The final polling stations, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, close Friday, October 16, at 6 a.m. Israel time. New York’s consulate hosts the largest polling station, with more than 700 eligible voters.
