TPS: Israeli Military Eliminates Two Hamas Commanders in Gaza, Citing Plots for New Terror Attacks
The Israeli military killed two Hamas commanders, Muhammad Jamal Ahmad Eid and Saleh Ziad Ibrahim Miqdad, in Gaza, citing plots for new terror attacks.
Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli military said it killed two Hamas terrorists in separate strikes this week, saying they were planning attacks against Israeli forces in violation of the ongoing ceasefire.
According to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), Wednesday’s strike in El-Bureij in central Gaza killed Muhammad Jamal Ahmad Eid, described as a Nukhba commander who took part in the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
A strike Tuesday in Gaza City killed Saleh Ziad Ibrahim Miqdad, identified as a Platoon Commander in Hamas’s naval force.
The military said precautions, including precision munitions and aerial surveillance, were taken to limit civilian harm, and that forces remain deployed in Gaza under the ceasefire agreement.
