Jerusalem, 5 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An Iron Dome battery near the Gaza border on Saturday mistakenly identified IDF artillery fire as hostile fire toward Israel. As a result, an interceptor launched by the battery exploded near Kibbutz Re’im in the Eshkol Regional Council.
The interceptor caused no injuries or damage.
Kibbutz Re’im was attacked by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and dozens of Israeli casualties were reported in the area.
