The area where the olive harvest was conducted requires a prior request to the relevant authorities before the start of the harvest season. Coordination of the harvest is necessary to ensure the security of the area and public order. Given the security risk involved in conducting an uncoordinated harvest near an Israeli settlement, IDF forces, Judea and Samaria Border Police, and police officers from the Judea and Samaria District responded to the location and detained those present. The landowner was informed that he must coordinate the harvest on his plot, and he was provided with the contact details for future harvest coordination. It should be emphasized that approved olive harvests have taken place and are taking place in the area. To date, approximately 100 coordinated olive harvests have taken place throughout Judea and Samaria, yielding tens of tons of produce, with security and coordination from security forces and without any unusual incidents. In the coordinated harvest areas, only harvesters will be permitted to enter for the sole purpose of their task. Security forces are operating as they do every year to enable a proper and safe harvest season for the harvesters, with a strong determination to allow it to proceed without unusual incidents, alongside their missions of defense and counter-terrorism.
