TPS: IDF Soldier Who Opened Fire During Clash with Palestinians to Face Military Police Probe
An IDF soldier is under Military Police investigation after opening fire during a clash near Faqqu'a, wounding a Palestinian man.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Military Police have launched an investigation into an IDF soldier who opened fire on Friday during a clash near the seam line close to the Palestinian village of Faqqu’a in the Menashe Brigade area.
IDF forces were dispatched to the area following a reported confrontation between a Jewish shepherd and local Palestinians. During the confrontation, the soldier opened fire, wounding one Palestinian in the leg. The man was evacuated for medical treatment.
An initial IDF review and examination of footage from the scene reportedly raised suspicion that the soldier had violated the rules of engagement and that the force was not facing an immediate threat to life when he fired. The case was therefore referred to the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID).
The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against the soldier remain preliminary and have not been established.
