Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Three residents of Iksal and Nazareth, aged 32, 36, and 50, are set to be charged with demanding one million shekels ($329,000) in protection money while threatening the life of a northern resident and his family.

According to police, the affair began over an error in a land registration, after which figures allegedly linked to a crime family were brought in. As part of the campaign of threats, grenades were thrown at the victim’s home and at relatives’ homes, and he was summoned to a meeting where he was told to pay “compensation.” When he refused, the threats continued.

The Israel Police Northern District arrested the three following an investigation, and an indictment will be filed against them in the Nazareth–Nof HaGalil Magistrate’s Court.
