Jerusalem, 10 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF struck a target in Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Monday, killing Ismail Ibrahim Darwish Kandil, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist.
Kandil infiltrated Israel on October 7 and took part in the killing of Nahal Brigade commander Col. Jonathan Steinberg during the massacre.
More recently, Kandil advanced terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians and worked to restore Hamas’s capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. He was killed to eliminate the threat he posed.
The Nukhba is the special forces unit of Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
