Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — an Israeli is missing and feared trapped after a major natural disaster struck the area along the border between Tibet, China, and Nepal on Thursday.

According to information received by ZAKA’s international unit, part of a mountainside collapsed into a local river, causing the water level to rise rapidly, sending large amounts of water and mud toward nearby communities.

Reports from the area indicate that five villages were destroyed and buried under layers of mud. There is also concern for the fate of 28 buses that disappeared in the area, as well as around 350 tourists.
