Road Accidents and Fatalities Down in July

Jerusalem, 26 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In July 2026, 38 people were killed in road accidents in Israel. The Number of fatalities was 11 fewer than in July 2025, when it was 49, and nine higher than the July monthly average in the years 2022-2024 which was 29. This is according to data provided by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.

The number of total road accidents in July was 474, a decrease of 28.4% compared to July 2025 (662) and a decrease of 41.7% compared to the July monthly average in 2022-2024 (813).

The number of seriously injured was 163, a decrease of 36.8% compared to July 2025 (258) and a decrease of 30.3% compared to the July average in 2022-2024 (234).

The total number of casualties was 869, a decrease of 27.0% compared to July 2025 (1,191) and a decrease of 39.6% compared to the July monthly average in 2022-2024 (1,438).
