Jerusalem, 5 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Meteorological Service has issued a severe weather advisory ahead of a major storm system expected to bring unusually heavy rainfall across the country this weekend.
Meteorologists forecast widespread precipitation exceeding 100 millimeters in multiple regions, stretching from the northern territory down to the southern coastline. Authorities warn of a high risk of urban flooding in coastal and low-lying cities, alongside severe flash flood threats in desert riverbeds and streams surrounding the Dead Sea.
Emergency response agencies, drainage authorities, and municipal services have elevated readiness levels to manage storm damage and clear potential road blockages.
Travelers and residents are urged to avoid desert valleys, coastal promenades, and underground structures during peak storm activity.
