Israel to Connect Five Dead Sea Hotels to Natural Gas Network by 2027
By early 2027, five Dead Sea hotels including Isrotel and Leonardo properties will connect to Israel's natural gas network, saving millions annually.
Jerusalem, 23 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is expanding its natural gas distribution network to connect five hotels in the Dead Sea area, with the project expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2027.
The state provided approximately 22.6 million shekels (about $6 million) in funding for roughly 21 kilometers of new gas infrastructure. The hotels involved — Isrotel Ganim, Isrotel Dead Sea, Herods, Leonardo Club, and Leonardo Plaza — will convert their heating and cooking systems to natural gas.
Officials estimate the transition will save the hotels a combined 2 million shekels annually while reducing reliance on more polluting fuels, part of a broader push to expand gas access for major consumers.
