TPS: Israels GDP Surges 14.9% Annualized in Second Quarter of 2026
Israel's GDP soared 14.9% annualized in Q2 2026, driven by strong business, public, and private consumption, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.
Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that GDP grew 14.9% on an annualized basis in the second quarter of 2026, or 3.5% quarter-on-quarter, according to seasonally adjusted data.
Business sector GDP rose 15.4% annualized, while public consumption spending jumped 22.2% and private consumption rose 15.0%. Fixed asset investment increased 4.1%.
Exports of goods and services, excluding startups and diamonds, grew 16.6%, while imports excluding defense equipment, aircraft, and diamonds rose 24.4%, reflecting strong growth alongside a widening trade gap.
The figures suggest a robust economic rebound, though the sharp rise in imports relative to exports may point to underlying demand-driven pressures.
