Jerusalem, 4 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Estonian Agriculture and Regional Affairs Minister Hendrik Johannes Terras called for expanded technological cooperation with Israel in marine agriculture and the blue economy during an international conference in Haifa.
Terras proposed joint projects combining advanced monitoring technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop the two countries’ cooperation in these fields.
During his visit to Israel, Terras is also expected to meet Agriculture and Food Security Minister Avi Dichter to discuss expanding bilateral trade. Their talks will include the possibility of opening the Israeli market to Estonian beef imports and animal breeding material.
The proposed trade arrangements are intended to increase competition in Israel’s domestic market and potentially lower prices for consumers.
The visit highlights opportunities for closer Israeli-Estonian cooperation in agricultural innovation, food production and emerging marine industries.
