Jerusalem, 26 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli police have arrested a second suspect in the investigation into an explosive device planted in the car of a senior Likud official in Or Yehuda outside Tel Aviv.

The suspect, a man in his 30s from nearby Kiryat Ono, was detained Sunday by the Dan District’s Crime-Fighting Unit on suspicion of involvement in planting the device.

A 20-year-old Jerusalem resident was arrested last week in the same case, and a court extended his detention.

The explosion occurred on September 18, damaging the vehicle but causing no injuries. The car belonged to Dodo Halevi, chairman of the Likud branch in Or Yehuda. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, including a reported suspicion that it may have been connected to a financial dispute rather than political activity.

The second suspect is expected to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court as the investigation continues.
