Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Police in Nazareth found a fragmentation grenade and dozens of rounds of ammunition in a bag hidden beneath a baby stroller inside a vehicle, the Israel Police said Tuesday.
The weapons were discovered during a raid targeting illegal weapons held by criminal organizations in the city. Officers had raided a vacation rental unit on Wednesday following intelligence indicating weapons were present.
Two Nazareth residents, aged 23 and 28, were detained at the scene. Police also found dozens of packages containing substances suspected to be cocaine and hashish inside the rental unit, along with a key to the vehicle.
Both suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in court for a remand hearing.
